1993: The One That Started It All
General Info: The bottle was dipped in 1993, and was very important to folks to the point where people started collecting Maker’s Mark bottles. Most bottles are marked with 94 on the bottom.

History: We heard a few different reasons why the bottle was created, but the story goes, the Governor asked Maker’s Mark to do the invitations for the Governor’s Inaugural ball and they sealed it with blue wax. They had wax left over and dipped a few bottles in blue for UK. The bottles also were dubbed to honor UK’s 1993 SEC Basketball championship, or UK’s 1993 Final Four appearance.

That's not the Championship bottle, it's a separate bottle as part of a 3 bottle agreement with the U of L academic center of Excellence. Charlie Strong was the first one. There better be one for the 2013 Cards if the Ravens, Giants, and UK got one in 2012.
