1993: The One That Started It All
General Info: The bottle was dipped in 1993, and was very important to folks to the point where people started collecting Maker’s Mark bottles. Caution: There are some fakes, so to know if the bottle is original, check the bottom for a 93 or 94 bottle marking. Most bottles are marked with 94 on the bottom.
History: We heard a few different reasons why the bottle was created, but the story goes, the Governor asked Maker’s Mark to do the invitations for the Governor’s Inaugural ball and they sealed it with blue wax. They had wax left over and dipped a few bottles in blue for UK. The bottles also were dubbed to honor UK’s 1993 SEC Basketball championship, or UK’s 1993 Final Four appearance.

This bottle was created in to celebrate the University of Kentucky’s 1996 National Championship
Whit wax with a blue ribbon, reading “1996″ on one side and “Kentucky” on the other. The label has a denim look in remembrance of the denim jerseys worn by the Kentucky team for part of the season.
